LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Slushy roads and icy bridges has brought hazardous travel and school closings across north and central Arkansas. Six to 12 inches of snow is possible in northern parts of the state.
A winter storm warning was in effect Monday morning for the northern third of the state, and a winter weather advisory was posted for a tier of central Arkansas counties, including Pulaski, Saline and Garland.
The National Weather Service says up to a foot of snow may fall in the north as a cold air mass moves over the state. The weather service says two to four inches of snow is possible in central Arkansas today, with more tonight.
Authorities reported numerous accidents because of the weather.
